Family Missions Project…The Ronald McDonald House
October 4 @ 9:00 am

This year, Family Ministry will be partnering with the Ronald McDonald House to provide toys, stuffed animals, and gift cards for kids who are either patients or siblings of patients who need to live at the house. Some of these families live there for a week, a month, several months, or even a year. Each child (birth – 18 years) gets to choose a toy, a stuffed animal, and a handmade quilt when they live at the house. It’s just one way for these kids to feel loved as they face some difficult times. These items come through donation. This fall, our goal is to collect 300 items to take to the house. These items need to be new items – not used. This is one way to prevent germs as many of these kids have very low immune systems. The toys should rang between $20-$25 and the stuffed animals should be a decent size – not the itty bitty ones. In chatting with the staff at the house, they are always in need of gift cards for the teens (Amazon, Target, Walmart, Xbox, PlayStation, etc) and things for the infants (the infants like things with lights and sound). They do need things for all ages, but they said they have a hard time gathering enough for infants and teens. Typically, they house 2500 families per year.
Let’s work together to teach our kids about compassion and generosity and put some smiles on families’ faces who are facing some hard and scary times.
